Proceeds benefit the Helping Hands Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that grew from Bank Independent’s Helping Hands Program established after the April 27 tornado outbreak in 2011. The foundation supports local communities through Share Drives and a volunteer initiative.
Share Drives listed for ongoing support include Shelter Share for pet food and supplies, Food Share for non-perishable items, School Share for backpacks and classroom materials, and Toy Share for new, unwrapped holiday gifts. The foundation partners with local organizations to distribute these donations.
The Helping Hands Volunteer Initiative provides all team members eight hours of paid time each year for community volunteering. Team member volunteers have contributed thousands of hours to charitable thrift stores, food pantries, animal shelters, school events, festivals, community parks and gardens, and other 501(c)(3) organizations.
