Backyard Ultra in Tipperary
Hellevation is a backyard ultra marathon held in Grange Village, County Tipperary. As part of the All Ireland Backyard Championship Series 2026, the event follows a specific endurance format where participants must complete a loop of 4.167 miles every hour.
The competition continues until only one runner remains. Participants are required to finish each lap within the sixty-minute window. Any time remaining before the next hour begins is typically used for recovery. A horn signals the start of each new loop, and runners must be in the starting area at that exact moment to continue. Failure to be at the start line when the horn sounds or failure to finish a loop within the hour results in disqualification.

The course is fully marked and supported by local marshals. Participation is limited to 100 competitors, and entrants must be at least 10 years of age. Limited camping facilities are available on-site for those taking part in the event.
