Glen of Aherlow Trail Half-Marathon
The Glen of Aherlow Trail Half-Marathon is scheduled for Saturday 26 September 2026 in Lisvernane, County Tipperary. The marked trail route covers 22.50 km with a total climb of 563 m and is listed as Event Difficulty 6 (2,2,2), indicating moderate terrain with 200 m to 500 m ascent sections and segments of 6 km to 10 km. GPS devices are permitted.
All entrants must carry mandatory Level B kit. This includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket, bivvy bag or equivalent. The specific items to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day and announced at registration; participants should have a means to carry the kit. Failure to carry required items may result in denial of entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out.
Race registration and sign-in are at Aherlow Community Center. Parking is provided in the back field behind the Aherlow GAA pitch; drivers should follow steward instructions and not drive on the pitch. Showers and toilets are available in the GAA dressing rooms. There are three water stations on the route. T-shirts are available for the first 150 entries and must be collected at registration. Two campsites are available in Aherlow.
