Glen of Aherlow Trail Half-Marathon
The Glen of Aherlow Trail Half-Marathon is a trail race in Lisvernane, County Tipperary, organised from Aherlow Community Centre with race parking at the back field behind the Aherlow GAA pitch. The route is fully marked, GPS use is allowed, and the course covers 22.50 km with approximately 563 m of climb. The event is graded as Event Difficulty 6 (Moderate terrain, 200–500 m ascent bands, 6–10 km segments).
Mandatory kit is Level B - Standard and must be carried: a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket, bivvy bag, or equivalent. Organisers will finalise required carried kit on the day depending on conditions and may carry out random checks; lack of required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification. Runners should also bring means to carry the kit.
Entries open on Sunday 23rd August 2026 at 18:00 and close on Friday 25th September 2026 at 18:00. The entry fee is €35. The race forms part of the Munster Half-Marathon League.
Race registration takes place in Aherlow Community Centre. Facilities include showers and toilets in the GAA dressing rooms and refreshments (tea, coffee, sandwiches and sweet items) after the event in the community centre. T-shirts are available only for the first 150 entries and must be collected at registration. The route includes three water stations. There are two nearby camp sites in Aherlow.
