Hell Mary 6 Hours
Hell Mary is a timed endurance event held on a flat 1-mile loop in an open field at 10010 Statesville Road, Watertown, TN. The course has minimal shade and optional creek access near the loop for cooling. Each participant is assigned a designated 10x10 personal aid area.
The event emphasizes pacing, hydration strategy, and management of sustained heat exposure on a non-technical course. The loop is intentionally simple with minimal elevation change; aid, pacing, or assistance is not allowed on the loop itself.
Available time divisions include 6-Hour, 12-Hour (day), 12-Hour (night) new for 2026, and 24-Hour. Two HardRuck categories are offered: a rucking division and a weighted vest division. Weight standards (dry weight) are 20 pounds for participants over 150 pounds and 10 pounds for participants under 150 pounds.
Event logistics note a new chip timing system and a requirement that bibs be worn on the front of shorts or shirts for lap counting. The race start is positioned behind the timing station to ensure accurate results. Camping is allowed; porta-johns and running water are available but there is no site electricity. Well behaved dogs are permitted but owners are responsible if a dog chases horses. Runners may have up to two aid guests; non-running visitors are asked to provide a donation to the landowners. Parking is located outside the field with drop-off permitted before parking near the house. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
