Hell Mary - Watertown, TN
Hell Mary is an endurance event held on a flat 1-mile loop laid out in an open field near 10010 Statesville Road in Watertown, Tennessee. The course has minimal shade, optional creek access for cooling, and an approximate elevation gain of 10–20 feet per mile. Each participant receives a designated 10x10 personal aid area for supplies, cooling items, and crew support.
Time-based divisions include:
- 6-Hour
- 12-Hour (Day)
- 12-Hour (Night) New for 2026
- 24-Hour
Placement is determined by miles completed within the selected division. The event includes two separate HardRuck categories: Rucking Division and Weighted Vest Division. Weight standards (dry weight) are specified as 20 lbs for participants over 150 lbs and 10 lbs for participants under 150 lbs.
Aid rules require that all assistance be provided only inside a participant's assigned aid area; receiving aid outside that area leads to disqualification. Only registered participants may be on the official race course. Participants may bring up to two guests to crew in their aid area; guests who attend only to spectate are asked to donate a fee to the landowners.
On-site amenities include smoked BBQ and a vegetarian meal, water and Skratch at stations, portajohns, running water, camping space, and limited vehicle access for unloading. Generators are allowed if placed away from crowds. Custom belt buckles are available for qualifying distances; an optional fee applies for engraving and shipping.
