Hell Mary 6 Hours
Hell Mary 6 Hours is a six hour endurance option held on a 1-mile flat loop at 10010 Statesville Road, Watertown, TN. The loop runs through an open field with minimal shade and offers optional creek access near the course for cooling. Approximate elevation gain is about 10 to 20 feet per mile. Each participant receives a designated 10x10 personal aid area.
The event focuses on consistent pacing, hydration strategy, and managing sustained heat exposure on an exposed, nontechnical course. The organizer notes that efficiency early in the race and restraint in speed are important when conditions become hot.
This event is part of a larger set of timed divisions that also include 12-hour and 24-hour options and separate HardRuck categories. HardRuck entries are split into a rucking division and a weighted vest division. Weight standards listed by dry bodyweight are 20 lbs for athletes over 150 lbs and 10 lbs for those under 150 lbs.
Timing uses a chip system and participants must wear a bib visibly on the front. The course is a no aid loop: no food, drink, ice, gear, pacing, or assistance is allowed while on the loop; receiving aid outside the designated aid area results in disqualification. Only registered participants are allowed on the course. Camping, porta johns, running water, and limited vehicle access for drop offs are available on site.
