Heaven Can Wait 5K is a community road race held at the Redmond High School football stadium on Oct. 4, 2026. The event benefits Sara's Project, a St. Charles Foundation initiative that supports breast cancer education, early detection resources and patient support services in Central and Eastern Oregon.
The event has been held since 2000 and has raised more than $2 million to support local breast cancer patients and their families. For 2026 the organizers aim to raise an additional $25,000 for patient support programs that provide free wigs, post-surgical bras and education about early detection.
Registration and T-shirt fees cover event costs, and donations are directed to Sara's Project; 100% of donations go to program support and are tax-deductible. The event program includes fundraising options such as the 25K Challenge, opportunities for individuals and teams to create fundraising pages, vendor booths for community organizations and local businesses, volunteer roles for race-day support, and photo archives from prior years.
