About the race
The Heatwave Hustle 5k & 10k takes place on June 27, 2027 at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, VA (901 Amherst St.). The event offers in-person and virtual participation options.

The route is mostly paved with rolling hills and short sections of gravel. The 5k is an out-and-back once; the 10k consists of two out-and-back segments. Points earned at this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Spring Series. The Back of the Pack time is listed as 13:00; the BOTP series groups runners by similar average pace for series scoring.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before June 16; additional shirts are available after that date on a first-come, first-served basis. Race day registration is available but shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants. Registration fees listed are 5k $30 until June 15 ($35 after) and 10k $45 until June 15 ($50 after); prices increase by $5 on race morning.
Water stations are provided: three on the 10k at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one on the 5k at about mile 1.55; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are located inside the museum. Live results are posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are published the Monday after the race.
