Heatwave Hustle 5k & 10k : June 28 at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley
The Heatwave Hustle is a road race held at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, VA on June 28. The event offers two distances and a virtual run option for participants who cannot attend in person.
The course is mostly paved with rolling hills and short sections of gravel. The 5k is a single out-and-back route; the 10k is two out-and-back laps. Water stations are placed along the routes: one station on the 5k and three stations on the 10k at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restrooms are available inside the museum.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before June 17; sizes for later registrants are on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fees are listed with early rates through June 15 and increase after that date; prices rise by $5 on race morning.
The event awards the top three men and women overall and first and second in standard age groups from 19 and under through 70 plus. The charity benefactor is the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. Live results are posted on Athlinks and final results with series points appear on the organizer’s site after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
