Heart & Sole Race
The Heart & Sole Race is scheduled for June 19, 2027 in Billings and marks the 48th annual running of the event. The event includes multiple ways to participate and directs its proceeds to the YMCA Annual Campaign and to Billings TrailNet for trail improvements.
Race options offered:
- 10K State Championship distance
- 5K
- 2 Mile Health Walk
The 10K serves as the RRCA 10K State Championship; all 10K entrants are automatically entered in the championship with no extra registration required. Participants who register before the May 31 deadline are guaranteed a t-shirt; registrations after that date are not guaranteed a t-shirt.
Logistics note: the 10K starts at St. Francis Catholic School at 2202 Colton Blvd, with parking available at the school and a shuttle at the finish area at Dehler Park returning runners to the start. For the 5K and 2 Mile, parking is limited at Intermountain Health Saint Vincent Regional Hospital while MSU-Billings will allow campus parking; some campus lots will be unavailable.
Additional activities and programs take place alongside the race, including a free Run the Bases activity for children 12 and under at the Montana Active Life Festival and a local running challenge that awards a Billings Running Crown medal for completing a set of community races.
