Event details
The Heart of the Prairie Run takes place on May 30, 2026, at Blooming Soul Farm near Nickerson, Kansas (11108 W 69th Avenue, Nickerson, KS 67561). The event was originally scheduled for September 30, 2025 but was postponed to the spring due to low entries. This is presented as the first annual running of the event.
Distances and entry fees:
- Half marathon : $65 (price increases after April 1, 2026)
- 5k : $30 (price increases after April 1, 2026)
Charity and logistics
Proceeds will support The Heart of MFB, a 501c3 organization that provides financial assistance to families in South Central Kansas undergoing medical treatment for birth defects and offers informational resources, emotional support, and care packages. Packet pick-up is available on Friday, May 29 at Blooming Soul Farm and on the morning of the race. Registrants affected by the postponement were given options to transfer registration to the new date, allow the organizer to retain the registration fee to cover costs, or request a refund.
