Heart of ABQ 6.6K Run/ Race walk
The Heart of ABQ 6.6K is a Route 66 inspired community walk and run taking place in Albuquerque on May 23, 2026. The event covers a distance of 6.6K and commemorates 100 Years of Central Avenue and the continuing cultural significance of Route 66. It is hosted by the Juneteenth Renaissance Institute and presented by New Mexico True.
The course begins at Manzano Mesa Park and proceeds through the neighborhood toward Villa Hispana at Expo New Mexico. After crossing the finish line, participants can join the Heart of ABQ Festival inside Villa Hispana, which features local music, food, and cultural programming. A free shuttle will return participants to the park after the event.
