Rose Mile Downhill at Lake Sonoma
The Rose Mile Downhill is a one mile road race at Lake Sonoma organized by Healdsburg Running Company. The event is presented as a fun-only zone and is in its sixth year. The course runs 100% downhill along Madrone toward the water and finishes at the Gray Pine Trailhead.
Participants assemble at the Liberty Glen Campground and walk a short distance from campground E to the start line. Along the course there are Rosé Aid Stations located every quarter mile that provide a pour of rosé. At the finish there is a breakfast gathering with snacks and additional rosé.
The event includes awards for Best Smile and Best Rosé-Inspired Costume. Proceeds benefit the Children of Vineyard Workers Scholarship Fund. The description emphasizes a social, themed atmosphere rather than competitive rankings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
