The 12th Annual Head for the Cure 5K - NC Triangle takes place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Southern Village Green, 620 Market St, Chapel Hill, NC 27516. The event includes a 5K road race, a short untimed kids fun run and community activities such as packet pick up on race day, a brain tumor survivor photo, and special recognitions labeled "Keeping the Faith" and "Legacy of Love." Registration tiers and items included are listed: an early bird 5K registration priced at $34 (includes event t-shirt, timing bib and medal; ages 9+), a 5K with dog option at $49 (includes person t-shirt and bib, dog bandana and medals), a kids fun run registration at $25 (child 9 or younger; includes t-shirt and ribbon), and a virtual registration at $40 (shirt and medal mailed). All attendees are given the opportunity to fundraise for the event. The campaign has raised $1.23K toward a $40,000 goal. Funds raised will benefit brain tumor research and related programs at UNC Health, Path to Hope, and other national brain cancer initiatives.
