HBF Run for a Reason : Perth community running event
HBF Run for a Reason is a mass-participation running event held on Whadjuk Boodjar with a course along the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River) in Perth. The 2026 edition was sold out for a second year and attracted 40,000 runners, joggers, walkers and wheelers.
The event offers multiple distance options:

- CommBank 3 km

Fundraising is a core part of the event. In 2026 participants helped raise over $1.85 million for more than 350 charities, with the reported amount raised at $1,853,981. Across 14 years, participants have raised over $14 million. The stated fundraising target for 2026 was $2 million.
Event partners include community and commercial organisations such as media partners and brands involved in timing, eyewear, banking and automotive sponsorship. A prize draw for an ATTO 1 all electric city car supplied by BYD was offered to entrants meeting membership criteria by 31 July 2026.
