HBF Run for a Reason : Perth community fundraising run
HBF Run for a Reason is a community road running event held on Whadjuk Boodjar with a course along the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River) in Perth. The event brought 40,000 runners, joggers, walkers and wheelers to the streets in 2026 and was sold out that year.
The event includes multiple race options and associated participant services:
- Brooks Half Marathon
- Specsavers 12 km
- CommBank 3 km
In 2026 the event raised $1,854,915 for more than 350 charities. Since 2010, the HBF Run for a Reason community has raised over $16 million for various charities. The 2026 edition also offered official participant photography through a partnership with NORTHSOUTH LIVE and limited official merchandise.
Partners and sponsors supported the event and various initiatives connected to it. A national vehicle prize promotion ran in conjunction with the event in 2026 under specified entry and membership conditions. The next scheduled date announced for the event is Sunday 23 May 2027.
