Event
The Haweswater Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 1 March 2026 and is organised by Eden Runners. The course starts in Bampton Village and follows an out-and-back route along the shores of Haweswater on quiet, undulating tarmac roads in the Lake District valley. Race registration and toilets are at Bampton Village Hall, CA10 2RQ. The event has a race entry limit of 500 and the minimum age is 16 on race day. The race licence is to be confirmed.
Practical information
Entries open on 1 October 2025 and close on 27 February 2026. Entry fees are listed separately for UKA members and non-members, with higher fees applying from 11 January 2026. There were 70 participants entered at the time of this listing. Race numbers can be collected on the day and the race start is a short walk from the village hall. Parking is available at the village hall and village green and will be coordinated by marshals; participants are asked not to park on the race route or in the village. Finishers receive a hot drink and a slice of traybake, with a vegan option available. There is an option to donate £2 of the entry fee to support Wild Haweswater instead of receiving an event mug. Prize categories include overall male and female 1st to 3rd, age-category prizes and first team of three. Headphones are not permitted under UKA rules unless bone conducting.
