Haw River Island Ramble

The Haw River Island Ramble offers two events: the Competitor Race and the Rambler Loop. The Competitor Race is a timed 3.6-mile (6K) course around the Saxapahaw Island Loop Trail, located next to the Haw River. The Rambler Loop is a shorter, untimed option covering 1.2 miles. The event takes place at 5550 Church Rd in Graham, North Carolina.

The event is organized by the Haw River Assembly, a nonprofit citizens' group founded in 1982. The organization's mission is to restore and protect the Haw River and Jordan Lake. The Haw River is a 110-mile river that is part of the Cape Fear River Basin and includes the Jordan Lake reservoir, which provides drinking water and recreation for the region.
