Event Overview
The Haw Creek Hustle is a community event in the Haw Creek area of East Asheville, North Carolina. It is hosted by the Haw Creek Community Association and is described as the third edition of the event. It features walking, running, and community activities based at Charlie Bullman Park.
Event Details
The event takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026. All races start and finish at Charlie Bullman Park (719 New Haw Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28805). Proceeds benefit the Haw Creek Community Association and the restoration of Charlie Bullman Park by the Western North Carolina Youth Sports Association.
Distances
- 5K: A counter-clockwise course on mostly quiet roads in Haw Creek. Chip timing is used, and all 5K runners receive a custom race shirt (subject to order deadlines). One water station is provided approximately halfway through the course.
- Fun Run: Takes place in the area of Charlie Bullman Park and on the trails of Evergreen Charter School. Participants receive a fun prize at the finish line.
Logistics
Packet pickup and late registration are available on event day at Charlie Bullman Park. On-site registration is accepted up to 15 minutes before each event's start. There are two large parking lots at the park.
Awards
An awards ceremony for the 5K is scheduled. Special prizes are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, and top masters (40 & over) male and female. Awards are also given to the top three male and female finishers in various age groups from 12 & Under to 70 & Over.
Additional Information
Volunteers and signs mark turns on the course, with police stationed at key intersections. Well-behaved dogs on short leashes with current tags and vaccinations are welcome. The event has a no refund/no deferral policy. Water and light snacks are provided near the finish line post-race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
