Event details
Haunting Experience is a Halloween-themed race held on October 30, 2026, at North Lakes Park, 2001 W. Windsor Rd., Denton, TX 76207. The event is organized by Run Different and offers multiple ways to participate, including in-person and virtual options.
Distances and options:
- Kid's Dash - Free; short 100–200 meter sprint; dashers may purchase a shirt or finisher medal.
- 5K - $35; includes participation t-shirt and custom Survivor medal.
- 1 Mile - $18; untimed; includes participation t-shirt and finisher medal.
- Virtual Option - $40; shirt and medal shipped the week of the race.
The 5K and 1 Mile events include event-themed participation shirts. The 5K and 1 Mile registrants receive a custom Survivor medal; an additional medal may be awarded to faster finishers. The 1 Mile is an untimed event with no age group awards. 5K and 1 Mile registration note that registering early helps to guarantee t-shirt size. Price increases for the 5K and 1 Mile occur after April 30, 2026.
Awards, volunteers, and charity
Age group awards for the 5K are awarded four deep in male and female divisions from 0-4 through 80+. Awards are also given to Male and Female Overall winners, Masters (40+), and Grand Masters (60+). Awards are distributed at the event and will not be shipped. Volunteers are eligible to receive a code for a free race entry as a thank-you. Run Different donates 10% of profits and 100% of donations to Encounter Church (Fate). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
