Haunted Halloween Half Marathon & 5km
The Haunted Halloween Half Marathon & 5km takes place in Chicago at the Diversey Event Space in Lincoln Park, located across from the Notebaert Nature Museum. This event combines road running with seasonal festivities, offering participants two distinct distances:
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 5 km
The course moves through the trails of Lincoln Park before joining the Lakefront Trail. The route is accurately measured with every mile marked. For those completing the 13.1 Miles, timing splits are recorded at 5km, the turnaround point (6.55 miles), and at 10 miles.
Participants are encouraged to wear costumes during the race. A pre-race costume contest is held with prize money available for both individual and team winners. All finishers receive a themed medal that matches their race bib and shirt. Post-race activities include autumn refreshments, Halloween candy, and a gathering at a local venue in Lincoln Park where participants receive a discount on food.
Race packets are available for pickup in the days leading up to the event at locations in Schaumburg and the South Loop, as well as on-site on the day of the race. Awards are presented to the winners of age groups organized in ten-year increments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
