Event overview
The Haunted Halloween Half Marathon & 5km takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Chicago's Lincoln Park at Diversey Event Space (2611 N Cannon Drive), across the street from Notebaert Nature Museum. The event offers the following race distances:

Entry fees listed are $55 for the half marathon and $35 for the 5k. The half marathon is open to ages 10 and up. Age group awards are given in ten-year categories: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. The event includes a pre-race Costume Contest with prize money: teams 1st and 2nd win $200 each; individual 1st and 2nd win $100 each. Every half marathon and 5k finisher receives an H^3 medal that matches the bib and shirt. Course and logistics
The course runs on trails within Lincoln Park and then heads south along Chicago's Lakefront Trail. The course is measured with every mile marked. Half marathon timing splits are provided at 5 km, 10 km, and 10 miles; the 10 km split is moved to the turnaround point at 6.55 miles. Packet pickup is scheduled at Xtra Mile Running (Tuesday, 10/21, 2-7pm) and Fleet Feet South Loop (Thursday, 10/23, 1-7pm), with on-site pickup planned on race day beginning at 7:15am.
