Haunted Half Marathon & Relay - Kingsport
The Haunted Half Marathon in Kingsport, Tennessee is an annual road event presented by Holston Medical Group. The event includes a half marathon, a 2 to 4 person relay, a Monster Mile and a virtual option. The race has received national recognition noted in past coverage.
Packet pickup takes place at the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31. The course will be marked with arrow stickers on the ground and blue course signs, and will be staffed by officers and volunteers. Shuttle service will be available near the start and finish area.
Relay exchange locations are listed along the course and include Lamont Greenbelt Access, Holston Valley Drive Trailhead, and Boat Yard Landing Trailhead near mile markers three, six, and nine respectively. Some roads and parking lots will be closed or blocked for the event; the parking lots at Food City and the Farmers Market are not available for event parking. Water for the course and post race is provided by Healthy Kingsport.
The Monster Mile is open to adults, children, strollers and dogs, with a choice of Monster Mile or Haunted Half t shirt designs. A costume contest is held before the half marathon start with awards for best costume. Race awards include overall, masters, grandmasters, age group, relay, and best costume categories. The event has a no refund policy but allows entry transfers, virtual switches, or deferral; a service fee applies for refunds requested before September 30 and refunds are not offered after October 1.
