Hat City Dash 5K
The Hat City Dash is a running event taking place in Danbury, Connecticut. The competition features a single distance:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The course is located on Kenosia Avenue, where participants start and finish their run. Runners head northbound along the road until reaching Christopher Columbus Avenue. At this point, the route turns around a cul-de-sac and returns toward the original start line. The terrain is flat throughout the course. A hydration table is positioned near the halfway point to provide water to participants during the activity.
All funds raised from the event support a higher education fund for the child of an officer. A recipient for these funds is selected randomly by an independent third party at the conclusion of the event.
The venue for pre-race and post-race activities is Elicit Brewery, located at 15 Backus Avenue. This location serves as the site for early bib pickup on the day before the race. After the run, an awards ceremony and a party are held at the brewery. Registered participants aged 21 and over are eligible for one beverage with proof of registration.
