Harvest Marathon Relay
The Harvest Marathon Relay is a timed team running event covering a total distance of 26.2 miles. Held at Rice University in Houston, the event serves as a benefit for the Houston Food Bank. The race features different team categories based on team size and time requirements.
Participants can enter in one of the following categories:
- Collaborative Teams: These teams can include up to 25 runners and have a 4-hour time limit.
- Competitive Teams: These are limited to 10 runners with a 3-hour time limit.
- World Record Attempt Team: A specific group attempting to break the Guinness World Record for a marathon relay.
Competitive teams contend for medals designed by two-time Boston Marathon winner Geoff Smith, while the first-place team receives a handmade trophy. Collaborative teams have the option to participate in sabotages during the event. The course has previously hosted teams that achieved times such as 2:14:55 and 2:24:11.
The event marks its 10th anniversary with the 2025 and 2026 editions. Various sponsors from the energy and industrial sectors support the race, including Next Wave Energy Partners and Nalco.
