Turbot Trot - Geneva
Turbot Trot is a community running event held at Peck Farm Park North in Geneva, Illinois. The event offers two distances: a Lighting Run of approximately 2.5 miles and a Short Circuit Kids Mile. The course is all terrain and not recommended for strollers; runners choosing to use a stroller will be asked to start toward the back. Dogs may attend to cheer but are not permitted to run in the race. All safety guidelines must be followed.
Participants in the Lighting Run receive an official Turbo Trot t-shirt and a complimentary beer for those age 21 and over with valid ID. Short Circuit registrants receive an official t-shirt and a special participation ribbon. Packet pickup is available at the Stephen Persinger Recreation Center on the days before the event and on race day; virtual bags are introduced this year. Timing and scoring are provided by ShaZam Racing.
Awards include overall top male and top female, and age group awards that recognize the top two males and top two females in each category: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 65, and 66 and over. Kids Mile runners receive a participation award. Event staff will monitor weather conditions and make decisions as needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
