Harvest 5K Run and Walk
The Harvest 5K takes place at The Way International Headquarters in New Knoxville, Ohio. This annual event, now in its sixth year, invites participants to run or walk through the autumn air. The course utilizes local roads, and Wierwille Road is closed to vehicle traffic during the activity.
Participants have access to several race options:
- 5K
- 50-Yard Dash (Children aged 3-7)
- Quarter-Mile Fun Run (Children aged 8-11)
For the main 5K race, cash prizes are awarded to the top male and female finishers. Medals are provided to the top three male and female finishers in eight different age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over. Those who register by the September deadline are guaranteed a commemorative harvest mug.
Children participating in the 50-Yard Dash or the Quarter-Mile Fun Run receive a race bib, a medal, and other items. A bounce house is available for children before and after their specific races. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The event includes post-race snacks, water, hot chocolate, and apple cider for participants. Packet pickup is located at the Outreach Services Center. On the evening of the race, a free family-friendly Harvest Concert is held at the same location. On the following morning, a Sunday Teaching Service is held at the Word Over the World Auditorium.
