SIDS Awareness 5k Run/Walk
The event is a 5K run/walk held in Saint Marys, Ohio, at 100 West High Street. The course follows sections along the St. Marys River and passes Memorial Park and KC Geiger, providing a route through local park and riverfront areas.
The event includes education about sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) awareness and prevention and is presented in remembrance of an infant who died from SIDS at three months old. Materials and activities related to SIDS awareness are part of the event program.
All profits from the event support a local nursing scholarship program. Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded to area students pursuing a nursing degree with a focus on obstetrics or pediatrics.
