About the race
Hartlepool Half Marathon returns in 2027 with a revised route based at The Highlight, Hartlepool Marina. The event is a road half marathon covering 13.1 miles and is presented as a flat and fast course that can support faster finish times.
The proposed route runs along the historic Headland, the seafront promenade and the coastline around Seaton Carew, offering extended sea views and a mix of town, coastal and open sections. The route is subject to final approval and may change.
The race uses live chip timing provided by Timing Up North. There is a strict three hour cut off for the course, which equates to roughly 13 minute miles. This is a road race and canicross is not permitted.
All finishers receive a metal medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and snacks and a drink at the finish. Free parking is available for participants at Hartlepool Marina and the Royal Navy Museum, although organisers note that public transport or walking may be preferable where possible.
