Hart-Miller Island Run : October 3, 2026
The Hart-Miller Island Run is a limited-entry running event held on Hart-Miller Island, with participant access arranged from Rocky Point Park in Essex, MD. The course distance is 5.3 Miles. Registration includes a race shirt, boat transportation to and from the island, and light post-race refreshments. Race day registration is not available. The event is limited to 120 registrants and up to 25 registered guests, with a one-guest-per-registrant policy until the guest limit is reached.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, October 2 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Charm City Run in Timonium. During registration participants select a scheduled boat departure time and must be prepared to board at that time; participants are advised to arrive at the Rocky Point parking area before their selected departure. Only registered participants and registered guests may board the event shuttles. Participants may instead access the island by personal boat but must beach on the sandy shore because no public dock is available.
On-course support includes two water stations plus water at the start and finish. Participants must remain on the marked course and no animals are allowed on the island. Awards are presented to the top three overall Male, Female, and Non-Binary finishers and to top male and female finishers in the listed age groups. The event benefits the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Friends of Maryland State Park Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
