About the race
Hare of the Dog 2 Mile Run/Walk is a short, paved race held on January 2, 2027 at Bridgeway Station in Simpsonville, South Carolina. The event features a 2 Mile out and back course that crosses the Bridgeway Station Bridge and follows the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The route is fully paved and includes one small hill near the end.
Parking is free at Bridgeway Station and is within about 100 meters of the start and finish. Restrooms are available inside Bridgeway Station. There is no aid station on course; water is available inside and a complimentary beer is provided at the finish for adults. Packet pickup opens one hour before the race at the green arch and tent. A 45 minute time limit applies to the course.
Finishers receive a custom medal, custom race bib, chip timing with live results, and complimentary race photos. Additional event items include a custom race tattoo, event giveaways, a race sticker, and custom socks for the first 100 participants. Awards include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and age group medals for first through third in 15 age categories. The race counts toward the Upstate Brew Series and is part of the Upstate Giving Series, which directs registration proceeds and donations to local nonprofits.
Registration opens September 1, 2026 and closes November 1, 2026; the listed registration fee is $24. Race-day mobile registration is available. Group entries of five or more qualify for a $5 discount and refund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
