Hare of the Dog 2 Mile Run/Walk
The Hare of the Dog 2 Mile Run/Walk is a paved, out-and-back event at Bridgeway Station in Simpsonville, SC on January 2, 2027. The course crosses the Bridgeway Station Bridge and follows the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The route is entirely paved with a single short hill near the end.
The distance is 2 miles and the event has a 45 minute time limit. Packet pickup begins one hour before the race at the green arch and tent. Parking at Bridgeway Station is free and within about 100 meters of the start and finish. Restrooms are available inside Bridgeway Station.
There are no aid stations on course; water is available inside and beer is provided at the finish for participants of legal drinking age. Dogs are allowed on the course and headphones are permitted. There is no gear check.
Timing is chip based with live results. Every finisher receives a custom medal and complimentary professional race photos. Other included items and perks listed by the organizer include a custom race bib, custom finisher tattoo, event giveaways, a race sticker, a hydration sample, and custom socks for the first 100 participants. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three in each of 15 age categories.
Entries are final with no refunds or deferrals; transfers and other registration changes are allowed up to race day. The event supports local nonprofits through the Upstate Giving Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
