Hare of the Dog 2 Mile Run/Walk
The event is a two mile run and walk held on January 2, 2027 at Bridgeway Station, 1000 Via Corso Avenue, Simpsonville, SC 29681. The course is fully paved and includes one small hill near the end. The route crosses the Bridgeway Station bridge and follows connecting paths of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Participants are asked to stay to the right on the out and back segments to share the route with others and with registered dogs.
Registration opens September 1, 2026 and closes October 1, 2026. The listed registration fee is $19.00. Packet pickup begins one hour before the race. The first 100 participants receive custom race socks. There is beer available at the finish area.
Awards include overall prizes for top finishers and age group awards that will be announced one hour after the event. Organizers note potential updates to course, location, and time, and indicate new apparel, medals, and other swag for 2027. The event welcomes children and dogs on the course and describes a family oriented atmosphere without additional qualification requirements.
