Hare of the Dog 2 Mile Run/Walk
The Hare of the Dog is a family-friendly running and walking event held at Bridgeway Station in Simpsonville, South Carolina. The event features a single distance:
- 2 Miles
The course is 100% paved and designed for speed. The route winds across the Bridgeway Station Bridge and connects with segments of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. While the majority of the course is flat, there is a small incline located near the finish line. Participants are required to stay to the right during the out-and-back sections of the route. There is a 45-minute cutoff time for all participants.
This event allows participants to run with their dogs. Registration includes chip timing with live results, a custom race bib, a finisher medal for both the human participant and their canine companion, and event-themed giveaways. The registration fee also covers professional race photography and a race sticker.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the top three finishers in several age group categories, ranging from under 9 to over 80, receive age group medals. These results also count toward the Upstate Brew Series points standings. After finishing, participants of legal age receive a complimentary beer. The event concludes with a post-race party featuring music. Packet pickup is available on-site starting one hour before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
