Hardingstone Sprint Triathlon - Northampton High School
The Hardingstone Sprint Triathlon takes place on 6 September 2026 at Northampton High School, Newport Pagnell Road, Hardingstone, Northampton (NN4 6UU). The event offers several race formats and a relay option for teams of two or three.
Distances include:
- SPRINT: 400m swim | 20km bike | 5km run
- SUPER SPRINT: 200m swim | 10km bike | 2.5km run
- AQUABIKE: 400m swim | 20km bike
- BEGINNER TRI: 200m swim | 10km bike | 2.5km run
Swims take place in the school 25m pool: 16 lengths for the sprint (400m) and 8 lengths for super sprint/beginners (200m). Competitors are set off in waves, with a maximum of four swimmers per lane; each swimmer is responsible for counting their lengths. Time penalties apply for missed lengths.
The bike is a one-lap course: 20km for sprint and aquabike, 10km for super sprint and beginners. Riders cross a mount/dismount line at the site entrance and must follow road rules; major turn points are signed and marshalled. Helmets must be worn and remain fastened until the bike is re-racked.
The run is an out-and-back route on tarmac around the local area, with the sprint run totalling 5km and the shorter courses totalling 2.5km. The route crosses some estate roads and includes downhill and uphill sections before returning to the school finish area.
Registration is available the day before and on race day. Race packs include a swim cap, two race numbers, and two stickers for bike and helmet identification. Results are published online and all participants receive event medals. Limited parking is available at the school and refreshments are provided.
