Hardin-Meade Endurance Run (31 Miler)
The Hardin-Meade Endurance Run is a 31 Miler point-to-point event that starts in Downtown Elizabethtown and finishes at the waterfront park in Downtown Brandenburg, Meade County, Kentucky. Entry is limited to 50 participants and registration closes on Thu, Jul 9 at 11:59 PM ET. Registration is managed through UltraSignup and minimum qualifying performances are verified.
Due to typical July heat and humidity, organizers strongly recommend that participants have previously completed an ultra distance (50K or longer) or at least two full marathons for safety. There is a paid registration option that includes a run logo shirt and a free no-shirt option.
Support and safety requirements are detailed and mandatory. Each runner must have at least one crew vehicle to supply needs and support; multiple runners may share a single crew vehicle but those runners must start and finish together. Crew vehicles must be in good working order, display warning signage about runners on the road, and keep warning or flashing lights on while providing support. Crew vehicles will leap frog to resupply and will not follow directly in front of or beside runners.
A safety briefing is held before each start. Every runner and each pacer must wear a reflective safety vest for the duration of their time on course. Pacers are permitted only up to the intersection of HWY 60 and HWY 313 (Joe Prather) and must run beside or behind the runner at all times. A route preview is available on Strava.
