Hardin-Meade Endurance Run (31 Miler)
The Hardin-Meade Endurance Run is a 31-mile point-to-point running event in Kentucky. The route begins at 16 Public Square in downtown Elizabethtown and concludes at the waterfront park in downtown Brandenburg, Meade County. The course covers a distance equivalent to approximately 50 kilometers and follows a route through the local region.
For safety reasons, the event organizers suggest that participants have previously completed at least one ultramarathon of 50k or greater, or a minimum of two full marathons. Registration is strictly limited to 50 participants. Runners are assigned to one of three starting waves based on their most recent validated marathon finish times.
This event operates with specific safety and support requirements:
- Each runner must have at least one dedicated crew vehicle.
- Multiple participants may share a single crew vehicle if they remain together throughout the run.
- Crew vehicles must display warning signs and use flashing lights at all times.
- Support vehicles are not permitted to follow directly behind or drive in front of runners; instead, they must move ahead to designated points to provide assistance.
- All participants and pacers must wear safety reflective vests for the entire duration of the run.
Pacers are permitted to join runners until the course reaches the intersection of Highway 60 and Highway 313 (Joe Prather).
