Hannover Township Sprint 2 Spring 5K
The Sprint 2 Spring 5K is an annual community event focused on health and wellness, held at the Izaak Walton Youth Center and Izaak Walton Reserve in Elgin. Organized by the Hanover Township Office of Community Health, this event marks its 11th year of providing a local race for participants.
The event features a single distance for participants:
- 5K run/walk
The course is located at 899 Jay Street, where the race begins and ends. Participants can engage in the run or walk and visit various sponsorship tables available on-site. Complimentary snacks and beverages are provided during the event. Following the completion of the course, a medal ceremony is held to recognize those who placed in their respective categories.
Proceeds from the registration fees are directed to the Hanover Township Foundation. These funds are used to assist township residents who are facing financial hardship, specifically helping them access medical and dental services. Registered participants receive a wicking-wear event shirt, with sizes guaranteed for those who complete their registration by early April.
