Hannah Pote Run For Education 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
The event takes place on August 22, 2026, at Starkville Sportsplex, 405 Lynn Lane, Starkville, MS. It includes a certified 5K road race and a separate 1-mile fun run. Proceeds benefit the Starkville Foundation for Public Education and support teacher and special school project grants within the Starkville Oktibbeha School District. The race was established to honor Hannah Pote and her connection to Starkville High School.
The certified 5K uses a very flat, fast road course with traffic control. The 1-mile fun run is a flat out-and-back course closed to traffic.

Registration categories include options for runners, students, local athletes, team members, and sponsors, with different fee levels and optional T-shirt choices. Race day registration is available on the morning of the race; a higher race day fee applies for both distances. Packet pickup is available only on race day at the race site.
Awards include overall male and female and overall masters trophies, plus 1st through 3rd place awards in multiple age groups. All 1-mile fun run finishers receive a medal.
