Hannah Pote Run For Education 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
The event is a 5K and a 1 mile fun run held at Starkville Sportsplex in Starkville, Mississippi on August 22, 2026. It was established to honor the memory and spirit of a late student athlete and to support local public education.
- 5K - certified, very flat and fast road course with traffic control.
- 1 Mile Fun Run - closed to traffic on a flat out and back course.
Proceeds benefit the Starkville Foundation for Public Education and funds raised support teacher and special school project grants within the Starkville Oktibbeha School District. Registration options include free and paid categories for various participant groups, with race day registration available at higher fees. Packet pickup is available only on race day at the race site.
Awards include trophies for overall male and female and overall masters, and 1st through 3rd place awards by age group. Age categories for awards run from 10 and under through 70 and over. All 1 mile fun run finishers receive a medal.
