Hannah Pote Run For Education 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
This event is scheduled for August 22, 2026, at the Starkville Sportsplex, 405 Lynn Lane, Starkville, MS. It offers a community running program that raises funds for local public education.
Available distances:
- 5K: certified, very flat road course with traffic control.
- 1 Mile Fun Run: closed-to-traffic, flat out-and-back course.
The event includes multiple registration categories, including free entries for certain sponsors and team members and reduced rates for students. Race day registration is available and day-of fees apply for the 5K and the 1 mile run. Packet pickup is provided on race day at the race site.
Proceeds benefit the Starkville Foundation for Public Education and are directed toward teacher grants and special school projects within the Starkville Oktibbeha School District.
Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and overall masters, each receiving a trophy. Additional awards are presented for first through third place in standard age-group divisions (10 and under; 11–14; 15–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; 70+).
