About the race
The Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum 5K Race and Fun Run is a fundraising event to support the museum's efforts to enhance and modernize its exhibits. The race begins and ends at the Heritage Museum and follows a route through Starkville's Historic District, downtown area, and the Cotton District. The event takes place on February 20, 2027, at the museum location. Early packet pickup for pre-registered participants is at the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum, 206 Fellowship Street, Starkville, MS 39759, on February 19 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Race day packet pickup is available at the race site starting at 7:30 a.m.; participants must present a photo ID to collect a packet. Day-of registration is allowed for an additional cost and race shirts may be limited for same-day registrants. The course includes some small hills; strollers and wheelchairs are allowed but participants should consider course control on slopes. The race is not chip timed.
There will be no water stations along the course, though water will be available at the start and finish areas. Awards will be given to overall male and female finishers and to 1st through 3rd place in multiple age categories; awards can be picked up next to the timing table at the finish.
