About the race
The Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum 5K Race and Fun Run is a fundraising event to support efforts to enhance and modernize the museum and its exhibits. The event begins and ends at the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum, located at 206 Fellowship Street, Starkville, MS 39759. The route runs through Starkville's Historic District, the downtown area, and the Cotton District. The course includes some small hills.
Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed, but the course may be difficult to control on inclines. Packet pickup is available early for pre-registered participants at the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum on Friday, February 19 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Race day packet pickup is available at the race site; a photo ID is required to collect a packet. Day of registration is permitted for an additional cost and t-shirt availability is not guaranteed. The race will not be chip timed.
Water will not be supplied along the course; water will be available at the start and finish areas and participants are encouraged to bring personal hydration if needed. Awards are given to overall Male and Female finishers and to 1st through 3rd in the listed age categories for both sexes. Awards are handed out as placements are determined and can be picked up near the timing table at the finish.
