Hann Jivin' in the Dark : Knoxville, TN
This event features a night trail race and a separate kids trail mile starting and finishing at Anderson-South Head Start, 4808 Prospect Road, Knoxville 37920. The adult course is a circuitous 6-7 mile (10k+) route through the mostly unlit wooded South Loop of Knoxville's Urban Wilderness, routing portions of Lost Chromosome and Helix Trails. Trails will be marked but not illuminated.
Runners must carry a flashlight or wear a headlamp to be allowed on the adult course; backup batteries and redundant lighting systems are encouraged. The kids course is a shortened, less dark version of the adult course and finishes before dark; lights are not required for the kids mile but may be considered. Parents are allowed to run with their children in the kids event.

Safety and race policies include aid and water stations supplying very small cups, an 18:00 per mile minimum pace enforced by a sweeper, and a requirement that runners under 12 be accompanied by an adult to enter adult races. No headsets, earphones, bicycles, strollers, roller blades, or pets are permitted on the course. Registration fees are specified per entry type and registration is nonrefundable with no bib transfers. T-shirts for the series are limited and one shirt per runner per season is requested.
