Hamster Endurance Runs
Hamster Endurance Runs is a set of timed endurance events taking place August 1 and 2, 2026 at Lake Padden in Bellingham, WA. The event is limited to 130 runners total and maintains a waitlist for each race. Registration opens January 13, 2026. Participants receive a custom wood keepsake and runners who reach 100 miles receive belt buckles. Awards are given to the top three women, men, and non binary runners in each event.
The course is a well marked 2.6 mile loop that circumnavigates Lake Padden. The trail is wooded with a compact dirt and crushed gravel surface, nontechnical, and has minimal elevation change; each loop includes about 150 feet of elevation gain. The loop will include glow lights for nighttime hours and runners are required to carry headlamps. Runners may enter and exit the course only at designated areas.
Race support includes a variety of individually packed snacks, water, electrolyte drinks, and hot food options for longer runners. There is a large drop bag area and picnic tables under a shelter. Tents are not permitted outside the shelter but napping in vehicles is allowed. Spectators and crew are permitted and pacers are allowed for the 24 and 32 hour events after the 12 hour race concludes. The refund schedule is 95 percent by April 1, 2026; 50 percent April 2 through June 30, 2026; and no refunds on or after July 1, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
