The Hampton Bays Fire Department Turkey Trot is a community running event held in late November at the Hampton Bays Fire Department, 69 W. Montauk Hwy., Hampton Bays, NY 11946. The event benefits the Hampton Bays Fire Department and includes race and walk options.
Race details and course

- 1 Mile walk
The course is described as flat and fast, on an out and back route down Ponquogue Avenue. Online race day registration is limited. A T-shirt is guaranteed to the first 200 registrants. Registrants who register at least three weeks in advance may receive a personalized race number. Participants must know their bib number to pick up a bib; a self lookup area is available.
Awards, amenities and logistics
Top male and female overall receive a $100 gift card. Top male and female in FD/PD/EMS/Military categories receive a $100 gift card. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. There is also a Largest Team Award. Early bib pickup is available at the Hampton Bays Fire Department substation at 106 Ponquogue Avenue; on-event bib pickup is handled by event staff. Parking options listed include King Kullen shopping center, 52 E. Montauk Hwy., and United Artists movie theatre, 119 W. Montauk Hwy.
