Ham & Lyme Summer 2027
Ham & Lyme Summer 2027 is the 12th edition of a running event in the South-West offering two distances. The scheduled date is Saturday 3rd July 2027.
The route is based on the Liberty Trail, a historic route taken by six villagers in 1685 to join the Monmouth Rebellion. Both the 50 km and 100 km routes share sections so runners pass each other on the course. The finish is at the seaside, where the atmosphere varies from loud afternoon support to a quieter night-time arrival with waves and seagulls.
The event commonly shows a wide range of running club colours at the start, and the course layout encourages mutual encouragement between 50 km and 100 km participants. The organiser has offered an early secure-place option in recent years. The secure-place option for the 50 km is currently at capacity. Entry for the 100 km is planned to open soon after this year’s event. Entry fees for 2027 are listed at £40 for the 50 km and £75 for the 100 km.
The event page notes informal elements such as club camaraderie and occasional lighthearted features like emu selfies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
