Halloween Spooky 5km
The event is a night trail run in Glensheskin Woods, Kilworth, County Cork, held over a 5.00 km forest trail with about 100 m of climb. The route is fully marked and GPS devices are not allowed. The organiser lists the event difficulty as moderate, corresponding to terrain and ascent typical of short mountain-style courses.
Entry details show places are full with 60 of 60 entered and entry fees noted as €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries close on Thursday 29 October 2026 at 18:00.
There is a mandatory kit list that all runners must bring and be able to carry if required. Required items include a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. A head torch with spare batteries is also part of the mandatory kit. The exact kit to be carried during the race may be finalised on the day depending on conditions and will be advised at registration. Random checks may be carried out and lack of required items may result in denial of entry or disqualification.
Parking is limited and the organiser advises carpooling. The start is reached by following local waymarkers into Glensheskin Wood and walking over the bridge into the carpark. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
