Halloween Spooky 5km
The event is a 5.00 km night trail race through Glensheskin Woods, Kilworth, County Cork, held on Friday 30th October 2026. The course is listed with a climb of 100 m and the event difficulty is recorded as level 6, described as moderate terrain. The route will be fully marked and the use of GPS devices is not allowed.
Mandatory kit is Level B - Standard: waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag or equivalent. All runners must bring these items; the specific kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day and advised at Registration. Failure to carry required items may result in denied entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out. Competitors should also have means to carry the kit if required.
The route is described as a forest trail by night. Getting there: Glensheskin Woods, Kilworth, Co. Cork. From the square in the centre of the village, follow yellow Avondhu way-markers and the sign for Ballyporeen (15 km). After 1 km, turn left into Glensheskin Wood and walk over the bridge into the carpark. Parking is limited so carpooling is strongly advised to avoid a backlog of traffic.
