Halloween Spooky 5km
The event is a night trail run over a forest route in Glensheskin Woods, Kilworth, Co. Cork. The course distance is 5.00 km with an ascent of 100 m. The route is fully marked and the use of GPS devices is not allowed. The short-course distance is the same as the main course.
From the village square follow yellow Avondhu way-markers and the sign for Ballyporeen; after 1 km turn left into Glensheskin Wood and walk over the bridge into the carpark.
Logistics and entry
Entry closes on Friday 24th October 2025. Entry fees are €10 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and for under 18s. The event entry limit is 65; 23 entries have been sold. There is no early start. Parking is limited and carpooling is strongly advised.
Mandatory kit (Level B) must be brought: waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket, bivvy bag or equivalent. The kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day and advised at registration. Random kit checks may be carried out; lack of required items may lead to denial of entry or disqualification. Two non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year are required to qualify for the end-of-year prize. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
