Halloween Scavenger Hunt Fun Run - Winchester
The Halloween Scavenger Hunt Fun Run takes place on 29 October 2026 at 135 N. Loudoun Street in Winchester, Virginia. The event is presented by Frederick County Parks and Recreation in partnership with Runners' Retreat and includes a social gathering at Manolete's after the activity.
Teams of two to four runners or walkers receive a pointed checklist of Halloween themed items and have one hour to locate items, photograph them with team members visible, and return to Runners' Retreat. Each item on the checklist carries assigned points and some items offer bonus points. Teams must stay together for the entire run and report their final distance to event leaders.
Registration opens 16 September 2026 and closes 29 October 2026; the registration fee is $6.00. Teams should arrive early to check in and receive their checklist. At least one team member is expected to carry a running watch and a phone with space for photos. Teams are instructed to start their watch when leaving Runners' Retreat and not to stop it until they return, and to include team members in each photo used as proof.
