Halloween Scavenger Hunt Fun Run - Winchester
Frederick County Parks and Recreation is partnering with Runners' Retreat for a Halloween Scavenger Hunt Fun Run on 10/29/2026 at 135 N. Loudoun Street, Winchester, VA 22601. The event combines a themed scavenger hunt with a run or walk; participants of all ages search for Halloween-themed items and photograph their finds.
Teams have one hour to locate items from a checklist, take photos that include their team members, and return to Runners' Retreat. Each team receives a list of items with assigned points; some items carry bonus points. Teams must stay together for the entire run. After teams return, there is a social gathering at The Cider House where food and drinks are available on an individual basis and the winning team is announced and receives a prize.
Teams consist of up to 2-4 runners or walkers. Organizers ask that at least one team member carry a phone with space for photos and run with a running watch. Teams should start their watch as they leave the store, not stop it until they return, and report their final distance to event leaders.
