Halloween 5K and Monster Mile
The Halloween 5K and Monster Mile takes place on October 24, 2026 in Stafford, VA. It is the 11th annual running of the event and is the fourth race in the 2026 Stafford Race Series. The event benefits Project Lifesaver with the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. All finishers receive a custom finisher's medal and registrants who sign up before the t-shirt deadline on October 10 will receive a long-sleeve race shirt. Costumes are encouraged and prizes are awarded for the best costumes. Both race courses are USATF certified.

Logistics and rules
Packet pick up is available Thursday, October 22 at Fleet Feet Fredericksburg, Friday, October 23 at the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center, and race morning near the restrooms by fields 7 and 8. Race packets are not mailed; a friend or family member may pick up a packet for a registrant. Parking is available at Embrey Mill Park - 1600 Mine Road, Stafford, VA. Strollers are permitted in the 5K but should start toward the back. Dogs are not permitted. Registration is online only and there are no race transfers or refunds. Restrooms are available at Embrey Mill Park and the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center. There is one water stop about 1.5 miles into the 5K.
Awards and series prizes
5K awards include overall top three male and female cash prizes ($100, $75, $50) and top three age-group awards for each listed division. Overall awards are based on gun time; age-group awards use chip time. The 1 Mile awards go to the top three male and female in each child age division and are based on gun time. The Stafford Race Series offers separate cash prizes for top series finishers and a finisher gift for those who complete all five series races.
