Event Overview

The Halloween 5K and Monster Mile is an event taking place on October 24, 2026, in Stafford, Virginia. The main event is a USATF-certified 5K race and walk. There is also a 1 Mile Kids Run for children ages 3-12. The event encourages participants to wear costumes and gives prizes for the best costumes.

Event Details

The event offers participants a long-sleeve t-shirt and a custom finisher's medal if they register before the t-shirt deadline of October 10th. Registration is online only; there is no paper registration. Strollers are permitted in the 5K, but participants with strollers are asked to start towards the back. Dogs are not allowed on the course. There are cash prizes for the top runners in the 5K. The race benefits Project Lifesaver, a search and rescue program operated by the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

Location & Logistics

The event takes place at Embrey Mill Park, located at 1600 Mine Road in Stafford. Parking is free at this location. Packet pickup is available on the Thursday and Friday before the race at specified locations in Fredericksburg and Stafford, as well as on race morning starting at 7 AM near restrooms at fields 7 & 8. Race packets will not be mailed.
