About the race
The Spooktastic Halloween 5k is an evening multi-terrain run at Lawsons Showground in Herons Reach, Blackpool. The course includes trails, grass, mud, puddles, water and sections of very uneven and slippery ground, with some parts very dark where a headtorch is required.
Headtorches are compulsory for every runner and must be worn on the head. A phone torch or handheld light is not a substitute. Runners should wear appropriate footwear with good grip and clothing suitable for the weather. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged.
Event HQ, registration and the start and finish area are all inside the showground. Bib collection opens at 6.00pm at Event HQ and race numbers are arranged in surname order. Portable toilets will be provided at Event HQ and a baggage storage area and key drop facility will be available; all items are left at the owner’s risk.
There is no competitor parking inside Lawsons Showground. Parking is available on surrounding streets subject to local restrictions. Public transport and rail connections serve the area; Blackpool North station is around 1.7 miles from the showground. A staffed water station will be available around halfway and at the finish. Professional medical support is on site. The event is chip timed and official results will be published online. Official race photos are normally available within 24 to 48 hours.
