Halloween 5 and 10K - Haunted Carnival
The event takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the HMCS Haida National Historic Site and HMCS Star on the Hamilton waterfront. The race day features a haunted carnival atmosphere with costumes encouraged and both in-person and virtual participation options.
Distances offered include:
- 1 km in-person family run
- 5 km in-person and virtual
- 10 km in-person and virtual
Race kits are available for pickup the day before at the Stoney Creek Running Room store and on race day at HMCS Star. A Pennywise-inspired finisher medal is listed, and the event includes trophies and prizes for best costume. Food vendors will offer hot chili on site.
The event supports local charities, including McMaster Children’s Hospital for NICU equipment and Hamilton Food Share; non-perishable food donations will be collected at the event. Fundraising groups such as RHLI Cadets are participating and have raised funds to date.
Virtual participants can track their run with the ASICS Runkeeper app or submit results through the event results page; those who post results receive a virtual finisher certificate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
