5th Annual Halfscom Half Marathon on Bascom Hill
The event is the fifth edition of a half marathon held on Bascom Hill in Madison, Wisconsin, on October 31, 2026. The course uses a roughly 1/3-mile oval-shaped sidewalk on the hill; runners complete 40 laps to cover the half marathon distance, with approximately 2,000 feet of elevation gain.
The event includes solo and team divisions. There is an untimed race format and registration is free. For the relay option, each participant must register separately and select the relay choice; teams decide their own running order and how many laps or legs each person completes on race day. Costumes are highly encouraged.
A top-of-the-hill aid station provides water, snacks, and moral support. All solo finishers receive a vintage November Project Madison buff of their choice.
