Half Moon Bay Beach Safety Run
The Half Moon Bay Beach Safety Run will take place on September 19, 2026 at Pillar Point Harbor, 1 Johnson Pier, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019. The event includes multiple short-course runs along the harbor and nearby marsh trail.
Distances offered:
- 2 Mile Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 10K Run (6.2 miles)
- Kids Fun Run (1/4 mile) for ages 10 and under
A stroller entry option is available for the 2 Mile, 5K, and 10K courses. The noncompetitive Kids Fun Run concludes the morning events.
Course descriptions note views of the Pacific coastline, Pillar Point Harbor docks and fishing boats, and ocean scenery from the Pillar Point Marsh Trail. The setting includes coastal weather and sea breeze typical of the area.
The event is organized by and is a benefit for the Arunay Foundation. The foundation focuses on reducing beach accidents and coastal drownings by raising awareness and educating the public about sneaker waves, rip currents, and other hazardous beach conditions. Proceeds from the event are used to support the foundation's beach safety programs. 2025 race results are available from prior years.
