Half Moon Bay Beach Safety Run
The Half Moon Bay Beach Safety Run will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Pillar Point Harbor, 1 Johnson Pier, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019. The event offers road and coastal courses that follow areas near the harbor and marsh trail.
Distances offered include:
- 2 Mile
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- Kids Fun Run 1/4 Mile for ages 10 and under
The courses run along the Pacific coastline near Pillar Point Harbor and the Pillar Point Marsh Trail. Descriptions note views of fishing boat docks, open ocean scenery, and the local sea breeze. A noncompetitive Kids Fun Run for children 10 and under will conclude the morning. A child in stroller option is listed for the 2 Mile, 5K and 10K events.
The event is organized by and benefits the Arunay Foundation. The foundation focuses on reducing beach accidents and coastal drownings by raising awareness and educating people about sneaker waves, rip currents, and other hazardous beach conditions. The foundation seeks to equip beaches with life rings and to keep communities informed about unsafe weather conditions.
