Viking 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon in Concord, NC
The event takes place at Vietnam Veterans Park, located at 760 Orphanage Rd, Concord, NC. The race uses the Dogwood Shelter area as its on-site location. Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon (13.1M)
Course details are provided as out-and-back routes formed from shorter segments. The 5K and 10K use a 1.56 mile segment to create a 3.11 mile out-and-back; the 5K completes the out-and-back once and the 10K completes it twice. The half marathon uses a 1.64 mile segment to create a 3.28 mile out-and-back and repeats that out-and-back four times.
The surface is primarily paved with a stretch of gravel or dirt, and the course is described as shaded. Restrooms are located in the right corner of the parking lot on entry. A course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes applies.
Administrative notes: all runners must register through RunSignup and there is no on-site registration. There is a price increase on the Monday before the race.
