Event Overview
The US Road Running event in Grand Ledge, Michigan, takes place at Mount Hope Park. This competition features multiple distances on a closed course within the park. Participants must register in advance through RunSignup, as there is no option for on-site registration on the day of the event. Packet pickup is conducted at the venue, opening 30 minutes before the collective start and closing 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the races.
Distances
The event offers three distinct distance options:
- 5K - Consists of two laps of the designated 1.56-mile out-and-back course.
- 10K - Consists of four laps of the designated 1.56-mile out-and-back course.
- Half Marathon - Consists of six laps of a separate 2.18-mile out-and-back course.
Course Details and Rules
The courses are designed as out-and-back routes. The 5K and 10K participants utilize a 0.78-mile segment (1.56 miles per lap), while the Half Marathon utilizes a 1.09-mile segment (2.18 miles per lap). There is a total course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all participants.
All finishers across all distances receive a medal. The event also features a best costume competition, and participants can earn series points for the US Road Running series. Awards are issued based on performance as per the standard US Road Running guidelines. Parking is available near the starting area within the park grounds.
