US Road Running - Spokane
The Pirate-themed event in Spokane, Washington, offers multiple race distances held on the Ben-Burr trail. Organized as part of the US Road Running Race Series, the competition is open to all runners and requires prior registration through RunSignup, as there is no registration available on the day of the event. Participants can choose between three distinct race formats:
- 5K
- 10K
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
The 5K and 10K participants utilize an out-and-back course measuring 1.56 miles per lap. Runners in the 5K category complete this loop twice, while those in the 10K category complete it four times. The Half Marathon follows a slightly different out-and-back route measuring 2.18 miles per lap, which runners must complete six times to finish the distance.
Event logistics include packet pickup starting 30 minutes before the official start. Parking is available at the Disc Golf Course, located near the entrance of the Ben-Burr trail where the starting line is situated. All finishers receive a medal for completing their respective distances. The event has a total course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. Participants often engage with the pirate theme by wearing costumes, with awards given for the best attire. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
