Event overview
Bloomsday is an annual road race organized by the Lilac Bloomsday Association in Spokane, Washington. The 2026 event is scheduled for May 3, 2026 and is the 50th running. The main race covers a 12-kilometer course through Spokane streets and draws thousands of participants each May. Bloomsday is a member event of the Professional Road Running Organization (PRRO) circuit. The association has run the event since 1977.

The event includes multiple race programs and start waves, including Elite, Corporate Cup, and color-coded waves (Brown, Yellow, Green, Orange, Blue, Lilac, Red). The Corporate Cup is a team competition with teams of three to five employees. Junior Bloomsday is for children in grades 3 through 7 and includes a prize pack for participants. Marmot March is a family-oriented 1-mile walk/run at Riverfront Park for children in third grade or younger. Race services and resources listed by the organizer include packet pickup/check-in, water aid stations, on-course entertainment, parking and transportation information, hotels, a finisher shirt design contest, and published results and finisher time tools. The Lilac Bloomsday Association selects an official charity partner each year; charities receive participant donations and a free booth at the event trade show.
