Event overview
Bloomsday is an annual road race organized by the Lilac Bloomsday Association in Spokane, Washington. The 2026 running is the event's 50th edition and is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026. The main race covers 12 kilometers (7.46 miles) and traditionally draws thousands of participants each May. Bloomsday is part of the Professional Road Running Organization (PRRO) circuit and includes elite competition with seeding and prize money.
Race formats and features
The Bloomsday program includes multiple events and community activities: a corporate team competition called the Corporate Cup, a youth race for grades 3–7 called Junior Bloomsday, and the Marmot March, a family-friendly 1-mile walk/run at Riverfront Park for children in third grade or younger. The event offers a finisher T-shirt and has run a finisher shirt design contest for the 50th running. The Lilac Bloomsday Association selects an official charity partner each year; partner charities receive participant donations, fundraising opportunities, and a free booth at the Bloomsday Trade Show. The event also provides race-day services such as water aid stations, parking and transportation information, and packet pickup. Special pricing of $19.77 is offered to mark the 50th running.
