Bloomsday 2026

The Bloomsday Run is an annual road racing event held in Spokane, Washington. Organized by the Lilac Bloomsday Association since 1977, the event reaches its 50th running in 2026. The main course covers 12 kilometers (7.46 miles) through the streets of the city, passing various local landmarks.

The event features several participation categories and distances:

  • 12 km: The primary road race open to elite and recreational participants.
  • Corporate Cup: A team-based competition for groups of three to five employees.
  • Junior Bloomsday: A youth-specific event for students in grades 3-7.
  • Marmot March: A 1-mile walk or run for children in third grade or younger.
  • Virtual Bloomsday: An option for those participating from other locations.

The course includes water aid stations and on-course entertainment for participants. The event is part of the Professional Road Running Organization (PRRO) Circuit, which includes a field for elite competition with available prize money. A trade show is held in conjunction with the race weekend, and finishers receive a T-shirt featuring a design selected through an annual contest. Seeded start times are used to organize the large field of participants, with various color-coded start groups based on expected pace or category.
