Bloomsday Run : Spokane, Washington
Bloomsday is an annual road race held each May in Spokane, organized by the Lilac Bloomsday Association. The main event is a 12 kilometer (7.46 mile) race that takes place on a course through Spokane city streets and past local landmarks. The event includes both elite competitors and recreational participants and is part of the PRRO Circuit.
Additional event formats and activities run alongside the main race. These include team competition, youth races, and a family walk or run for younger children. The event program and race weekend offerings frequently include a finisher T shirt and a finisher shirt design contest, a trade show, on course entertainment, water aid stations, and volunteer opportunities. The association also selects an official charity partner each year; participating charities receive fundraising opportunities and a trade show booth.
