Pirate 5K, 10K & Half Marathon - Gadsden, AL
This event offers three measured running distances on a pea gravel trail behind the Gadsden Mall, located at 829 Old S 4th St, Gadsden, AL 35901. Registration is required online through RunSignup; there is no on-site registration.
The courses use short out-and-back segments that are repeated to make each distance. The 5K and 10K share a 0.78 mile segment arranged as an out-and-back; the 5K repeats that out-and-back twice and the 10K repeats it four times. The half marathon uses a 1.09 mile segment arranged as an out-and-back and repeats that segment multiple times as indicated by the organizer.
A course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes applies. Runners should expect a trail surface of pea gravel and parking access via Old S. 4th Street; the organizer notes that some GPS devices may point to a small building on Old S. 4th Street, and recommends continuing south on Old S. 4th Street and turning right into the parking lot to reach the event area.
