About the Half Corked Marathon

The Half Corked Marathon is a unique running event covering a distance of approximately 20 to 24 km. The route weaves through the vineyards and valleys of the Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country, specifically highlighting the Black Sage Road and Golden Mile benches. Participants also run along sections of the Okanagan River. The course features rugged terrain and inclines, and runners must complete the distance within a maximum time of 3.5 hours.

The event is characterized by winery stations located along the route, where local producers pour wine samples for participants. Creative costumes are a central tradition of the race, with prizes awarded for the best individual costumes, teams, and skits. A "Sag Wagon" is available to transport participants to the finish line if they do not reach the midway point before the designated cut-off time.

Race registration includes several services and items:

  • Entry to the 20-24 km course
  • Transportation to the start line and from the finish line
  • Wine tastings and food bites from local restaurants along the route
  • A curated welcome bag with exclusive winery offers
  • A picnic lunch at the finish line

The weekend features additional ticketed social events, including the Tailgate Social, the Block Party vineyard dinner, and the intimate Dinner at the Farm. A public Finish Line Party takes place at Oliver Community Park, featuring live music, food trucks, an artisan market, and wine tasting opportunities.
