10th Annual Hair Peace and Hope 5K Run/Walk
The Hair Peace and Hope 5K Run/Walk takes place at Miramar Regional Park in Miramar, Florida. This event serves as a fundraiser for Women of H.O.P.E., an organization dedicated to supporting individuals living with Mixed-Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD) and other autoimmune conditions. Proceeds from the event help provide medical assistance, emotional support, and hair prostheses for those experiencing hair loss due to these conditions.
The event features a certified course within the park. Participants can choose between several registration options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Virtual Hair Peace and Hope
The virtual alternative allows participants to complete the distance at their own pace and location. To receive event materials for the virtual option, participants submit a screenshot of their completed miles from a tracking application.
On-site activities include a national anthem ceremony and a group warm-up session. An awards and podium presentation follows the completion of the physical race. Race t-shirts and finisher medals are guaranteed for the first 300 registrants, with shirt sizes distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
