Event details
The Hadrian's Wall Half Marathon takes place across two days: a walk on Saturday 10 October 2026 and a run on Sunday 11 October 2026. The event starts and registers at Housesteads Roman Fort, Hadrian's Wall, Hexham, and finishes at Tyne Green Country Park in Hexham. The event is described as an A-B route and includes a half marathon distance: 13.10 miles.
Staggered starts are used, with participants set off in groups of 75–100 and start positions allocated by estimated finishing time. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. Public car parking is available in Hexham town.
Route and logistics
The route follows the Hadrian's Wall Trail Path for about 6 miles from Housesteads, then descends to Newbrough, passes through woodland and joins the Tyne Riverside Trail Path. The final 5 miles into Hexham are flat, finishing at Tyne Green Country Park.
A shuttle bus is available and must be booked to reach the start, or participants may arrange their own drop-off at Housesteads. Bag drop is available at registration and all bags are transported to the finish. The event allows one well-controlled dog per runner, and dogs must remain on a lead.
